XWord CE is a crossword puzzle game that allows you to work puzzles wherever you are! There are 30 puzzles included with the program, and Puzzle Pak add-ons for unlimited hours of solving pleasure!

Once you select the puzzle it is loaded from the DLL. You will now see a grid of the puzzle in the center of the screen, and the across and down clues on the far right hand side of the screen. XWord will auto advance to the next block for you as you type.

Clues

The Clue area displays the current clue for the location of the cursor. The number of the clue, and the clue text is displayed in the across and down boxes.

Cheating

If you are really stuck, you may press ? to get the letter under the cursor displayed. You can also select View | Show Solution to see the entire grid.

Starting a new puzzle

You may elect to stop solving a puzzle at any time. XWord CE will ask if you would like to save your changes (if you have not already done so) before exiting the grid display. From the File menu select Open a New Puzzle. You will then return to the opening selection screen.
